System Requirements

Please note the hardware and software specifications described below when planning a project based on the Cayuga VMS. The server requirements for BVI may differ from those for Cayuga. For further information as well as additional recommdations concerning efficient hardware can be found in our "system requirements" sheet (PDF) in the flyout element on the right side of the page. All specifications apply for the current release of Cayuga.

Hardware recommended:

  • CPU: Intel® Core i5-8600K @ 3.60 GHz or Intel Xeon E3-1275 v6 @ 3.80 GHz
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • HDD: 50 GB free disk space @ 7200 RPM or SSD
  • Network: Ethernet with 1000 MBit/s
  • Graphics Adapter: At least 4GB DDR5 RAM, memory bandwidth at least 100 GB/sec.

Recommended display resolution:

1920 x 1080 or higher

Software Lifecycle

Sales Phase (purple): The relevant software version is sold for new projects. Error corrections are provided free of charge, support is available.

Warranty Phase (turquoise/green): Error corrections are provided free of charge. Existing installations with the relevant version can be expanded. No more sales for new projects, support is available.

Expansion Phase (orange): Existing installations with the relevant version can still be expanded. No more sales for new projects, error corrections are charged, support is available.

Support Phase (red): In this period, only telephone support is available, the software version is no longer on sale and can no longer be expanded. No more new bug fixes or patches will be developed. After the end of this phase, the software version will be "end of life".

In case of a defect during the maintenance period, Qognify may choose to upgrade the customer to a newer version.
